JEFFREY J. PATTER    [ vcard ]

Mr. Patter joined the firm in 2001 and serves as the firm's Managing Partner. His practice is focused primarily on business, corporate, commercial, employment and litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Patter was General Counsel for Honda of America Mfg., Inc., an $11 billion multi-national company.

Throughout his career, Mr. Patter has represented businesses of all sizes and has negotiated numerous multi-million dollar sales and acquisitions of corporate entities. In addition, he has headed projects involving customs and trade matters, class action lawsuits, mergers and acquisitions, environmental law, product liability, employment law, real estate, intellectual property, immigration, antitrust, corporate compliance, corporate governance, labor, litigation and international law.

Mr. Patter also specializes in the discovery of electronically stored information ("e-discovery"), and the organization and management of corporate legal affairs services for large corporate clients.

Recently, Mr. Patter led a $100 million+ sale of an entity in China, and successfully defended and negotiated the settlement of an ERISA class action federal lawsuit. He also led a project for a $25 million purchase and resale of 5,000+ acres of undeveloped out-of-state real estate for resort development, and directed the financing/banking for the acquisition. In addition, Mr. Patter successfully negotiated the settlement of an adverse multi-million dollar age discrimination judgment at a substantial reduction of the judgment amount.

Mr. Patter is a frequent lecturer and enjoys developing and presenting training for other business professionals as well as for the firm's clients.

Mr. Patter has devoted numerous volunteer hours to the Columbus Speech and Hearing Center and continues to perform legal services for the Center on a pro bono basis.
