corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, proprietorships and others. Alan counsels businesses of all sizes in virtually all areas including organization, operation, employee relations, compensation, financing, real estate, tax planning, and sales and acquisitions.

Alan has worked extensively with owners of long term care facilities on issues such as employee concerns, staffing, and purchase and sale of the facilities. He has also counseled owners and operators of these long term care facilities in matters of residents’ competency and estate planning.

Other aspects of Alan’s business involves business taxation and commercial and residential real estate matters such as contracts, deeds, easements, licenses, closings, mortgages, options, ground leases, land installment contracts, and tax free exchanges. Alan also works with business owners and other individuals in matters of personal estate, trust and tax planning, and business succession planning.

As a 35-year resident of the Columbus area, Alan has served the community in numerous capacities, including the Children’s Hospital Development Board, Chair of the Worthington Educational Foundation’s Grant Committee, and as a Trustee of Ohio State University’s Fraternity Managers Association and Material Assistance Providers. An Eagle Scout himself, Alan has served as a leader of his son’s Boy Scouts of America Troop, and as a youth ice hockey coach. Alan has also served his church as Chairman and Elder, and volunteers with a local homeless family shelter.
